Thoughts on the name Marelda?

I adore the name, it is an old German name meaning maid and battle. Even if it did sound like Esmeralda, it would still be gorgeous. Girls names are used in all sorts of books, films, songs etc but it does not make them any the less historical or pretty, Esmeralda is an old and gorgeous name, way before the hunchback, it is a variant of Emerald and the name comes from Spain.
