How would you make a mask for this type of event?

I am in grade 7 of middle school and am in desperate need of help. I am in a higher-level learning class and I need some help in this project that we're working on. We've just read The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo and my teacher is requiring everybody to create the ugliest mask possible. I almost never make anything that doesn't look nice and so I need help! We will be having a fake Festival of Fools and an election of the Pope of Fools based upon the mask that each of make.
